Just wanted to post about Miley Cyrus‘ new song “Slide Away”. It’s a very catchy tune you may have noticed and wanted to perhaps explain why. It’s actually using the Mixolydian scale which is just a major scale with a flattened 7th degree (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, ♭7). But it really plays on that flat 7th though (the B♭ma) which gives the song the overall feel.
Chord progression is: Cma / Gmi / B♭ma / Fma
